I have purchased iphone 4s in UK and now i have plan to go back india. So will siri work in India?

Maybe not, unless Apple has released a list of countries that are currently compatible with the Beta.

You are jumping to conclusions. I don't know if the Siri Beta is currently supported in India, but it might be.

And how not having access to Siri at the present time make the iPhone 4S completely useless in India? You won't be able to receive and place calls, no internet access via wi-fi and/or your cell phone carrier, no SMS/MMS, no 3rd party app access, not able to capture photos/video?

If you think it will be completely useless without Siri if indeed that is the case, sell it now and get another phone.

I hope you purchased your iPhone4S from an Apple Retail Store ??as unlocked

And once again, without access to Siri the iPhone 4S in India is completely useless? Does this mean Apple should not have sold any other iPhone model in India? Every iPhone 4 sold in India is completely useless since Apple did not include Siri with iOS 5 for the iPhone?

Siri may never be available in India, so sell your iPhone now and purchase another iPhone since without Siri your iPhone is completely useless in India.

Hey let me tell u ..even 2 of ma frndz bought iphone 4s from London only, Regent street and other from stratfort mall ..and now both are working very fine ...And now even I've order the same.

As far siri is concerned everything is working very nicely ..

I'm not sure about US but yes from UK for sure ..but if u've purchased an unlocked version from Apple store(W/O contract) den u need not to worry it will be working fine ...

Siri just needs a data connection to work. So, as long as you have a data connection in India, it will work. But the catch is that all services may not work. As in, you will be able to set, delete reminders, get it to call you the name you desire, make calls, send texts etc. But you will not be able to locate restaurants, or use any location services. These location services are not yet available in India.

If you bought an iPhone 4S only for Siri then you might be a little disappointed, but other than that, its a great phone to be used anywhere in the world. Far better than any of it's competitors.

You are right, actually SIRI can do everything in India but the only thing (at this stage) it cant do is finding locations or giving you directions to your favourite restaurant and as a matter of fact that service is at present ONLY available in US as it is still in BETA so hopefully the rest of the world will slowly steadily start receiving it with further updates....
