i photo problem

I have both a desk top and a macbook and have been making a couple of calendars with iphoto on the desk top - no problem.

I decided to make one on my macbook.

At the bottom where it shows 'card' ' book' etc it does not show 'calendar'

I re installed the disc again witth the 'bundles' but it still did not appear.

It seems I can make a card or book but not a calender.

Any ideas welcome because if I had not got the desktop I would be stuck.

Thanks

Check to see which version of iPhoto is on your MacBook (and on your iMac), and check for iPhoto updates using the 'Check for Updates' selection under the iPhoto menu.

It is not a machine-specific limitation. I'm using a MacBook 2,1 (Mid 2007) with OS X 10.6.7, and iPhoto '09 8.1.2 (424), and as you can see in the partial screen shot below, I do have a calendar print option.

Are you using iCal on the MacBook? It is apparently linked to iPhoto calendars.

When I try to create a new calendar, it asks me if I want to import my iCal calendar events.

In any case, try clicking the large Plus sign at the bottom left corner of iPhoto should give you a pop-up that allows you to create a new album, smart album, book, card, or calendar.

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:

1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your

User/Home(User uploaded file)/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home(User uploaded file)/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.

NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
