just purchased canon pixma 882. Product packaging states itis ipad print compatible. printer shows up fine on wireless network and works finewith computers. Also successfully installed Canon Easy-photoprint app onto ipadfrom app store and this app DOES recognize the printer. I would ask both of you the same question, and then give you both the same suggestion. Has your airprint printer ever worked yet with the pad? If it used to, and now doesn't then i am not sure what to suggest. If they are both new, then i will suggest the standard approach (at least for the hp, and may be the same for the canon).

From the control panel on the printer, look around for the control that will check online for a printer firmware update, and have the printer get it and install it. Then reboot the printer. I know that many of the hp printers did not ship with current airprint stuff, and needed to be updated before they would work. (mine included).

For the hp printers, they are very specific about doing this step from the printer while it is on line on the wireless network, not from the spftware loaded on the computer.

The hp airprint stuff is very reliable. Once i got mine updated, it works like a charm every time, for almost a year. I think once you get your going, you will have the same results.

As respects the canon... I have not used one, but i would be the same sort of update is probably needed. Check your books, it probably walks you through a firmware update in there some where.

The problem is that my printer do not have a control panel. Is a quite simple printer and the model is quite new. If you look on the net i'll see that it has only 2 buttons..so I can't realy check for an update from the printer. I've read something about a software Hp Laserjet firmware updater and i'll try with that. Hope to make it work.

Stefan, dont despair. Its there some where.

Read the link below, and you can see the history of your hp 1102w. It looks like a firmware release in june enabled airprint. So it should work.

One thing we have not Asked, does your router suport bonjour? My belief is that most/all newer routers do. But if that is not there, or if it is turned off in your router, that would make itmnot work.

Read the link. Then go to the help, site for whatever your router is. It may be you need a firmware update for the router, or it may be a simple as flipping a control on the router.

I'm using an Apple time capsule as a router, and i can't imagine that Time Capsule don't support Bonjour. The only thing that comes to my mind right now is that I didn't use the right utility to update my printer although i've downloaded it from hp website. But the thing is that the firmware is updated now..now is v.5. and before updating it was v.3. so I think v.5 is the latest one. quite strange...now i'm updating my ipad firmware to ios 5..maybe will work after that. thank you very much for your help:)
