I am trying to export a section of my timeline. However, I can't seem to find the old finalcut 7 'in and out' points like there used to be.
I can disable the other sectinos, but when you export it, it just puts in black.

You may have noticed this is a different application. It doesn't work the same way other applications might. You could make a project of the sectuon you wnat to export.

It seems like this isn't an option with FCPx.

That information and the thread is obsolete. Recent versions have allowed this option.

out of simple curiousity...was there one thing in particular that made you decide to stop using FCPx or was it a plethora of things?
No, my church used to have a big youth conference that required some videos to be put together, but I am no longer involved with that.
I was never a pro user, just for fun. I never did buy it. Just tried it for the trial month and then never ended up making a video with it.
Can I set in and out points so that I can export a section of my clip?
