Reinstalling Safari on OS 10.5.8

Hi Everyone,

A while back I deleted my Safari program as I opted to use Firefox instead. Now I have discovered that it may be a better browser to access certain webinars I need to participate in. I have tried to download a version appropriate for my OS (10.5.8) but everytime I do this I get an error message telling me that there is already a more updated version on my system even though I am pretty sure no version of Safari is on my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do so that I can reinstall Safari? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Niel,

I followed your advice and installed the OS 10.5.8 combo updater and Safari did not appear. Next I downloaded Safari again and reinstalled it. It kept crashing so then I downloaded the 10.5.8 update and now it is running but no browser window appears. When I select File>New Window or File>New Tab it crashes and asks to relaunch. I have also asked Safari to reset itself but that didn't help either.

Any further advice?

Thanks.
