How can I delete this file? *no location* Terminal maybe?

Hey Guys

So I downloaded a file into my Downloads folder, but somehow it looks like I messed up and it turned into an Alias. This Alias now can't be deleted or anything but this Alias is still 200mb!

As you can see in this first picture I redownloaded the file and this can be deleted :

User uploaded file

But if I search in this folder, the other hidden Alias comes up :

How can I remove this damaged file? Maybe something in Terminal?

Repaired disk permissions & also created a folder called the same as the Alias file (including the .avi at the end of the folder)

I made the folder in the 'Downloads' folder where the alias was stored.

I could then delete that folder and it removed the alias

To remove a file that cannot be deleted; from the Terminal:

  • Launch the Terminal.app (it is located in the Applications / Utilities Folder).
  • in the Terminal Window that opens type:

sudo rm (press the space bar once, don't enter return)

then drag the file you want to delete into the Terminal window and press "return".

You will be prompted to enter your administrator password, enter it.

This should delete the file at once, without moving it to the Trash.

Good luck
