How are the Apps Store and iTunes store different? Which do you use for what?
Can you explain the difference between Apps Store and iTunes store? Is Apps a subset of iTunes store? To which store do you go for what?
iPhone 4S, iOS 5

App Store = Applicatoins
iTunes Store = Music, ringtones, music videos, etc... anything not application related...
Thanks, Randis. What is confusing me is that you can also buy apps at the iTunes Store... so I should rephrase my question: "What distinguishes the apps you buy at the App Store from the apps you buy at the iTunes Store?"
Thanks!
G
Apps you buy from the Mac App store can be used on your computer. You use the same Apple ID as the iTunes Store, but that's the only connection.
Apps you buy from the iTunes App Store are written to run on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch). They won't run on your computer, only on your iDevice.
While the "App Store" is a section of the iTunes store when accessed by iTunes on your computer, the iTunes App on your phone is meant for music/media. It does not show any apps unless you search for them, and they are the same as those listed in the App Store
The App Store is a subset of the iTunes Store
The App Store on your iPhone will let you buy apps onlly for your iPhone
The App Store on your computer will let you buy apps for any device.
Thanks all, you have clarified it for me!
Cheers, G
