What is iCloud.com mail for ?

Hello,

Just a simple question.

Since Apple has a tendency to not say what their products can't do, I have to ask.

Basically, I am wondering what iCloud.com mail is for. Is it only for @me accounts ?

To be more specific to my situation, can I sync my @hotmail and @gmail accounts on it ?

I know that I just need to go on Gmail and Hotmail to see my mail, but the idea of having iCloud.com with all of my e-mail accounts in one place was appealing (when you don't have your own computer or other iOS device).
