How do you return to your original resolution setting?

How do you return to your original resolution setting?

I was messing with the resolution on my macmini and now the TV says invalid format with a blank screen. Now I can no longer see the monitor to fix the error. Any help?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Reset the PRAM > Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Den.thed, thanks for the help. I was able to get ahold of customer service since my Macmini was a day old. Your method was the first one that we tried, but it did not work. The. Second method was to start the computer in safe mode by holding down the shift key. That worked great and everything is back to normal.
