full-screen problem on YouTube

This just started a few weeks ago:

When I go to full-screen mode on YouTube, I get a weird, messed up image that looks like an x-ray or something. Very dark overall, with blurry and unreadable graphics.

Hulu is fine in full-screen mode. Youtube is not. Tried Safari 3.1.2 and FireFox 3.6.6. Both do the weird x-ray thing on YouTube.

Any advice?

go to your home folder (the home icon should appear next to it) and then Library> safari > extensions

if you don't have a folder that says extentions in the safari folder, then you don't have extensions which would put us back to 0. if you do, move the files out of the folder in a safe place and make sure safari isn't running.

Reboot after movine the safari extensions out of the folder they were in and into a different one (maybe on your desktop).

Now open safari and see if you are still having youtube issues.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue!! I have just upgraded to OS X Lion in the last couple of days.....Previous to that I was on the OS X version delivered with IMAC's around mid 2010 and this problem did not exist....

Anyone know the root cause or a workaround please let me know as I sync this up to the TV for kids to watch stuff from youtube...

This is a mac os X, version 10.7.2 on a IMAC 27 inch ....

right, through some trial and error i can replicate this issue....but I can't understand the issue...

Step 1> Open new tab and go to youtube

step 2> Select any video ( I used the link above)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IFx3WX4DES0#!)

Step 3> Click on full screen and get the funny screen which cannot be watched (PROBLEM replicated)

Step 4> Pause video

Step 5> Open the 'About this Mac' window from the apple drop down list

Step 6> Play video and click full screen (displays correctly!!)

So when the About this mac window is open, the display is correct....Why the **** this would this make a difference is anyone's guess. So that is my workaround at the moment, clearly seems a software defect ...

Try and let me know how you get on...
