Wiki update notification not working

Hi... I'm new to OS X Server (Lion or otherwise), and running the Wiki, but wasn't going to be using Mail services. My group members have entered default e-mails on the people page for each member, but when the checkboxes for email updates under NOTIFICATIONS are checked, no one is getting an e-mail. Do I perhaps have to set up Mail service to relay to a mail server run by our domain host, or is there something else I may not be aware of?

Any insights appreciated…

There are two ways you can do this:

- In Server.app, under the Mail section choose "Relay outgoing mail through ISP" and configure an outgoing relay

- Edit /etc/collabd/notifications.plist to configure mail server settings manually, save, stop and start wiki

If setting the relay should I expect the notifications.plist to change or stay the same since it is using the internal mail service for relaying?

I found out what I neeeded and just used the Mail server component. I think if you just modify the plist file you don't need the Mail server running to send notifications.
