Advice on selling MacBook

Hello, I want to sell Macbook. It's details are Mac OSx version 10.6.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 250 Gb. I bought it in August 2010. I have the charger and an adapter plug to go with it too. Does anyone know what the going rate is for it please? I went onto CashMyMac and they said they'd give me £225 for it, which seems far too low... Any advice and hel would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You could check the buy and sell sites such as Craigslist, Kijiji and eBay for similar models along with the asking prices. A word of advice about selling a computer with installed software: be sure to read carefully the End User Licensing Agreement to see if you have the rights to resell the software-- re: CS5-- since the (original) license is accorded to you as the first and principal user. You could put yourself in a delicate position regarding piracy. When reselling a computer I have always found it the best policy to do a clean install and sell it as if it had just come from the factory. That way the next owner can install any apps that she wants (not yours) for which you might still be held accountable. It is also good to mention that you have available the original install disks which can be essential for maintenace, repair and recovery in the event of problems.
