How to install a external floppy disk drive?

I insert a external USB floppy drive in my Macbook Pro, but no responce! Pls help!

Disconnect all USB devices except the floppy drive. From the menu bar, select Apple menu > About This Mac. The System Profiler application will open. Look under Hardware > USB for an entry representing the drive. If you're not sure, post the output. If the drive is not listed, either it's dead or something is wrong with the cable or your USB port. You can distinguish those possibilities by testing the drive with another computer and testing another device with the same USB port and cable.


If the drive is listed in System Profiler, but doesn't work, then it may be faulty or incompatible.
