There is no "save as" in the Lion pages.
There is no "save as" in the lion version of pages.
There is no "save as" in the lion version of pages.
Correct. To Save As do this:
great... rather than saving time and just hitting "save as" I now have to make two clicks to save a document as something else. Why complicate matters like this? I can see myself going back to snow leopard very quickly.
Lion support auto save and versions see below
Stupidest **** thing they've come up with yet! Some idiot programmer thought this would be a good idea, (because programmers don't think like us humans) "'cause we got something better for you" without bothering to CHECK WITH us humans. There ARE TIMES when we want just that: a "Save as..."!!!
What's next? Remove the "Undo" command??
There is no Save As… period, in Lion. Not just Pages.
Everybody is loving it.
If they are not loving it, they are WRONG!
Peter
"Everyone is loving it?"
Then why are there even comments about it.... could it be "NOT everybody?"
"They are WRONG??"
You know, the Chinese government is also putting people on forums and discussion boards to steer participants into agreeing with the Official Party Line! Except they're a little more subtle, and have a much better vocabulary!
Maybe your right, what would I know? I only work for one of the biggest media companies in the world, and 20 YEARS as a Certified Mac Tech in the field. It's not the first time Apple's done something downright stupid, lets just hope they don't make a fatal mistake. (I have seen big companies sink themselves with one big stupid mistake, and hey look at Netflix!)
Ah the old: "Americans don't understand irony!"
Peter
PS. Your a major media company employee? Maybe that explains you're English. 😉
Irony? (I is such an idiot!)
Yes, I certainly did miss it this time!!
I've run into more than a few Apple "Yes Men" in the last 20 years. You had me fooled.
Yes I work for a Media Company....... as IT Tech, not as a Copy Editor!
Besides, What's wrong with my English? I'm American, not Aussie!!
You're an American.
That explains your grammar.
You do understand what they spell?
Peter
Why YOU'RE right!! Funny, I usually get that right, ...
I do, however, like YOUR sense of humor!
The greatest oddity I find with American English (there are many) is the misapplication of prepositions.
"Write me" is so vague as to the intent, yet "Listen up" is totally redundant and meaningless.
I think both have their origins in literal translation over from Yiddish.
Peter
I do not love this auto save
for example, you have 2 giga of file and need just template of it.
save as could make far more quickly. user just open it and delete
contents and save another name reducing 2 giga duplicating time.
autosave forces all files should duplicate.
at least, apple should make files back up automatically when
changes someting. but they could not consider this. it's very dangerous.
and i think i am not worng peolple.
Wow. Getting rid of save and save as and replacing it with Duplicate is stupid. I just lost a document because of that. Thanks to the people on this thread I at least have not had to smash my ****** computer.
I wonder just how many million users telling Apple that this is stupid will drive the message home?
"Apple is listening to what you are saying, and you are ALL WRONG!"
Peter
There is no "save as" in the Lion pages.
