change slideshow speed

I primarily use my Apple TV to listen to music, or watch digital photos.

One feature to watch them is 'slideshow', but it seems that you can't adjust the time for each slide. (I thought you could before ... if so, could the latest update have made a change?)

Anybody have any idea how to alter this speed. I want to allow more time per picture.

Secondly, in the questions Apple asks, --- What do you use the Apple TV for? --- It doesn't even give 'watching my photos' as a choice, so I don't think that they care too much if they don't realize that it is useful for that function. Just venting, I guess

That is, when you choose an album on the Apple TV Photos menu for slide settings - once you set the time when you choose the "Classic" setting, you can select a different slide setting for your autoplay or screen saver play. Still works as a solution 6 years later with the Apple TV 3rd Generation.

I searched this question while trying to figure out how to play the iTunes Match on ATV.

And a few days later I have to add that only a few of the slide show settings permit a change in the time per slide. Many of the more complex transitions and presentations give you what Apple wants you to have - with no visible opportunity to change the duration. (I think, I will keep looking though).😊

Welcome to the Apple Community.

You set the time per slide in the slideshow settings (the little box that says 'settings' when you choose an album or event in the photos menu), the time per slide option is listed under the classic settings.
