Photostream keeps turning off in iPhoto.
Every time I quit and then reopen iPhoto, photostream is in a turned off state. Is this a bug or am I missing some setting?

I'm having same problem. When I turn photostream back on within iPhoto, all of my previous photos are loaded... Also, the system settings consistently show the iCloud settings for photostream as on.
Same problem here - last several iPhoto launches (some in same boot session, some after rebooting) has Photo Stream turned off, so major downloading every time. What gives???
for whatever it's worth ... I'm still not getting bugged to enable the photo stream since I completely removed everything from the mobile me panel. (deleted the account, when I go to that panel now it prompts to sign in)
wondering if anyone else tried this for a fix?
I did that and it did not help anything. I sent an official feedback to apple.
I don't know whether it's every time I quit, but I've definitely had to turn it back on at least three times on both my iMac and my Air. Definitely seems buggy. And I've never had Aperture, so it's not that.
Keep sending feedback.....

On the plus side, I have been in routine contact with a representative at AppleCare about this issue. We have replicated this issue both on my account and a test account, each with a clean Lion installation. The senior advisor also replicated the issue on his end with a test account, as well as his personal account.
At the moment, I'm told this issue has been sent to Apple's engineering people and a fix should be forthcoming. In the meantime, be sure to let Apple know if you are experiencing this issue by submitting feedback via the link. ⚠
I have the same problem with iPhoto on my Mac.
I am also having this problem.
Ditto. I can't see any pattern. It seems to be random.
Same problem here.
Bump. I've got the same problem!
Same problem here
Also photos are not deleting after 30 days
Any one solve this?

As I understand it, the Photo Stream photos aren't meant to delete after 30 days in iPhoto. The 30-day limit is for the cloud. The idea is that your big home computer will have enough space to store everything indefinitely, so nothing is auto-removed from there.
Isn't the photostream folder in iPhoto supposed to empty out after 30 days?
Otherwise what is feeding into the Cloud?
I know the images in iPhoto that were transferred into iPhoto won't disappear.

I too have the same problem. I'm concerned that I could end up losing photos as a result of this issue. Is that a possible risk?
I just had to turn photostream back on in iPhoto. It downloaded photos. While that window was open I watched as it suddenly switched back to "Photostream is Off" window.
At the time my iphone as in the process of backing up to icloud. Perhaps that is related?
