I'm also seeing this. iPhone 4S, Sprint. Prior to this happening the phone feels warm to the touch and the battery is draining much faster than expected (about 10% in 20 minutes while idling and screen off). Also, I just checked and two hours after leaving home with 100% battery, it's now down to 22%.

One thing that has changed is that I enabled Google Voice for this phone on google's website. I don't recall the panics, or the fast battery drain prior to doing this. Indeed, I thought I was one of the lucky ones since battery issues have been widely discussed with the 4S.

Maybe we can figure out what's common between our phones to narrow down the issue?

I see this happened on your phone with 5.0, and I'm running 5.0.1, so looks like nothing in the lasted upgrade fixed it.

Yeah I had that problem and it was really quite annoying. My iPhone would also turn it's self of periodically throughout the day. What I did was when I got my phone I bought apple cAre I'm sure though if your phone is new because I called them and they said they needed to replace it so that's what I did and my new iPhone works great and they replaced it for free and they paid for shipping too!
