CMAS alert
I keep getting a CMAS alert box when I wake my iPad 2 up. What's CMAS? Is it one of my apps?

Lookslike an app. Did you sign up for some sort of emergency alert system?

My iPad started with the same alerts in the past day or so. If you figure out how to disable, please post.
Thanks so much for finding this. However, I haven't downloaded a security app, yet. So, I'm curious why this alert comes up, especially during the last two days (just as user jsfein posted)?

weird I sent my wife a text earlier and then I got this message about a few minutes ago
Verizon is apparently testing their CMAS implementation again. They've done this a couple of times (as all participating carriers do).

hmm ok i didnt get it have 5 phones on account and she is only one got it and first time ever 🙂
They may have tested only to select numbers/accounts, or be rolling the test rather than blasting to everyone at once. If you really are concerned or interested, call Verizon support.

As I understand it, the message "CMAS ALERT," is warning you to seek further information from TV, Internet, or Radio. It is geared to match the geographical location of your device, wherever it may be within the U.S.
