How can I see song lyrics in iOS 5.0?

Before updating my iPad 2, I could see lyrics for the song playing just by touch the screen in "iPod" app (the screen in which the album cover appears). But now I can't see the lyrics at all, and I'm sure they're attached to the songs (I can see them in my iPod nano 5th; I sync the same songs between iPad and iPod). How can I do it now? Is there some way of seeing the lyrics, or the functionality was removed at all?

And, of course, is there anyone else having this same problem?

Thank you all =D

The feature has been removed from the Music app. Read this article from TUAW.

http://www.tuaw.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-features-changes-in-music-app-for-ipad/

I copied and pasted the pertinent information here for you to read but you can read it in its entirety at the link above.

"Unfortunately, the UI confusion doesn't end at this screen. A single tap on album artwork used to bring up lyrics info, but that's been deprecated; tapping instead brings up the controls, with no lyrics info at all. Inexplicably, Apple has removed lyrics support entirely from the iPad's Music app in iOS 5; it feels like an intentional move, since multiple betas came and went without the feature being restored, and lyrics support hasn't returned for the public release. Even the iPod nano is capable of displaying lyrics, so the iPad is now the only Apple device other than the iPod shuffle that has no lyrics support. It's baffling."

Lyrics display is extremely useful, but there is no such feature at Apple Music.app.

It was the reason while I started developing my own program Pauser Pro.

You may purchase it at App Store.

What you will find: Lyrics, auto-pause, fade out, crossfading. I work on a stage and Pauser Pro is based on my personal experience. It turned out to be the great program!

Pauser Pro works better than Lyrics View, which was suggested elsewhere, but it's still frustrating. I do enjoy being able to see lyrics again, but music is listed alphabetically by song title rather than by artist or album, and there is no preference panel which lets you change that by default. If you want to hear all the songs on a specific album and you select the artist, you get an alphabetized list of his or her songs with a blue cross to the left of each. Clicking All Songs places them on a list, which you can then click on to play a specific song. But you have to put the songs in that list first, and I was unable to make separate lists for each artist; attempts to do so led to them all being placed at the end of the first list.

I was finally able to make up a Playlist using a specific genre on iTunes on my computer, transfer it to my iPad, and then access it through Pauser Pro, but the artists were again mostly mixed up and it took a very long time to rearrange them by artist so I could select one and hear all the songs by one person or group. Of course, after that it continues to the next artist on the list, but at least I don't have to keep fiddling with it while I'm busy doing something else and just trying to enjoy some music.

I contacted Victor about these issues and essentially was told that the app was primarily developed for professionals performing on a stage and that it worked well for that purpose. I'm still not clear on how to create discrete lists if one wished to do that. But at least I can see lyrics on my iPad now.

Hi

I am now using an App called Stage Traxx. it is the best one out there as far as I am concerned.

I use it for gigging with my one man band and it so easy to use. All the track. on the left and lyrics on the right hand side. Just make a playlist on your computer or on the ipad and Stage Traxx will see it.

And it is reasonably priced.

I couldn't get Lyric View to work well for me. I emailed the developer and also made a notation on the FB page, but the response was that it had been set up to work for professional musicians and the concerns I had were beyond the scope of the app. All I wanted it to do was to act like the old Music program. I have much better luck with Pauser Pro; I can see the lyrics to my songs easily via that app, although I did have to play with it to set it up.

This is just another example of why a lot of people are getting very pi.... with Apple. Just take a look at what has happened to the share price in the last 6 months. First Apple scrapped the facility to switch between artwork and now they have got rid of lyrics view. I dread to think how long it took me to put front, back and centre covers as well as the lyrics for all my songs in iTunes - WHAT A WASTE OF TIME THAT WAS !!!!!! Just don't get me started on Mission Control as an awful replacement for Expose!

Yes, now finally with iOs 7 lyrics are available, but there are 2 bugs.

In the iPad if you start to read a lyrics in horizontal and while reading you put the iPad in Vertical there will be a video bug...the same happens if you start to read in vertical and after put the iPad in horizontal.

The other bug regardimg both iPad and iPhone; while readind lyrics of a song on an album, if you change track in the SAME album, it will show always the same lyrics of the previous song.

Does it happen also to all of you?

Yes.

First, when you tap Play Next(arrow) button to play the next song, the screen still shows the previous lyrics until you tap on the screen twice (Lyrics/Album), it will then update to show new lyrics.

Second-Orientation bug, for me, yes it happens occassionally when you change the orientation, the lyrics screen kind of mis-aligned and therefore some of the lyrics run over to the album art.

Bought Stage Traxx for my I pad 2. Looked awesome, got used to using it. Less than 1 month' during my second gig, was on break & showing it to another musician friend when suddenly the whole app froze and disappeared leaving only the framework. Had it for less than a month and there is nothing else stored on my ipad, got it solely for my 1 man band shows. Recently updated to iOS 7 thinking that might fix it, but no.
