One To One activation and Genius Bar reservations not working

Since there is no place in the forums for problems relating directly to One To One activation and access, I am placing this question here.

I am using Safari on Mac OS X Lion with browser extensions disabled.

When I go to Apple's activation site:

http://onetoone.apple.com/WebObjects/RRSActivation.woa

I click "Activate my membership," then I click Sign In on the following page.

I enter the activation code that I was given in the local Apple Store, along with my Apple ID and password.

I submit the form, and I am returned to the original activation page with no error message. My only option is to click "Activate my membership" and start over.

So I am stuck in an endless loop.

Similarly, if I go instead to this URL: http://onetoone.apple.com

When I sign in, the sign-in form merely reappears, with no error message.

My Apple ID services such as mail and iTunes all work fine, so the issue is not an obvious issue with incorrect Apple ID or password. And the saleswoman in the store who sold me OTO with my new Mac admitted during our initial failed activation attempt that the OTO activation site often has trouble and had suggested that I just try later from home. Well, that isn't working.

Then, when I try to set up an online reservation at the Genius Bar to discuss this issue, I become stuck in a similar loop. I request a time, enter my ID, am told that my ID has been entered successfully, and nothing else -- the reservation is not registered, and there are no error messages.

Has anyone else encountered such issues with activation or Genius Bar reservation? My sense is that something odd has happened to my Apple ID, perhaps during the transfer to iCloud.

I recommend in that instance, just to bring in the info to any http://www.apple.com/retail/ where someone can activate it for you.

I called AppleCare; the call center rep consulted with a super, who said there was nothing they could do and that I should go to an Apple store. But shortly after the call, the problem resolved itself. I did go through Apple.com's steps to re-confirm my e-mail address and separate any interconnected or duplicate AppleID accounts. I'm guessing that process fixed the issue somehow.
