My grandparents just sent me a shipping conformation for Kingston Apple 8GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module (KTA-MB1066K2/8G) and I wanted to know if it is going to work? I have a macbook pro early 2011 with 4gb of 1333mhz ram and I have been looking around various support communities and cant find an answer. I use a lot of core and ram intensive applications and I really would like to use the 8gb ram if I can.

The Ram you describe seems to be for older macs, and is not the right type for your mac. Either all the RAM will slow to match the slowest module in the machine, and YOU MIGHT have system crashes related to the mismatched RAM.
You need to find one of the following memories:
DDR3 PC3 - 10600 , DDR3 PC3 - 10666 or DDR3 PC3 - 10700 with a bus speed of 1333Mhz and CAS 9 and 204-pin

BTW, the memory your grandparents got you is only a 1066Mhz. so it won't work on your MBP, the memory you get must be 1333Mhz...

Because you will be replacing both RAM sticks in your computer, the 1066 MHz RAM should work fine. Though the clock speed is slightly slower, it is still DDR3 memory. However, I would recommend exchanging it for 1333 MHz RAM so that you have the fastest speed compatible with your computer.
