Q: Siri turns on by itself

I'm sorry to say it, but the only reasonable explanation is that your car is possessed by an evil spirit.

Do you use a case for your iPhone?

I have an Otterbox, and have had this happen a few times.

I am having the same problem, my iPhone 4S is up-to-date with the 5.0.1 update.

It happens once or twice per day, and it can be when I play a game, or just doing something else.. No earplugs in.

Very very annoing.

I have encountered the same thing. I am still on iOS 5. So far, I have encountered it twice. The first time, it happened when the phone is in the lock screen. The second time, Siri came on by itself in the middle of a call.

Same problem. And sometimes it just makes the turning off sound without the turning on sound

I also have the issue Of siri turning on, on it's own even after unlocking my phone. Any fix to this?

Has anyone found what can be doing this??

I have JB 5.1.1 and mine randomly comes on several times a day...

Open 'Settings>General>Siri' and disable he last option (Raise to Speak)

My siri turns itself on constantly every 5 seconds usually for hour bloocks, then will randomly stop. Really freaking annoying when you are trying to sleep. Anyway as it turns out you have to book an appointment to fix the phone and neither one of us had time. So as it turns out 3 weeks later when our optus bill comes. We are getting charged $3000 for data usage cause siri looks on the internet every 5 seconds for hours upon hours a day.

So yep siri is annoying, and up until Apple address this issue I'm out 1500 cause optus is nice enough to cover half.

So be careful with Siri, my advice turn it off.

That just happened to me as well. When I took off my phone case readjusted it and put it back on, Siri hasn't turned on randomly ever since. Maybe it's your phone case, if you have one though.

I turned off "Hey Siri" and the problem seems to have gone away.....for now.  My phone may however just be possessed and have to be exorcized;-)

It seems this bug is back iOS 8.1 iPhone 5c late at night 12:01 every night my siri activates even when im not speaking it does it.THIS BUG NEEDS FIXING i like ios 8 but this needs fixing quick

Do you leave it plugged in at night? If so go to Settings/General/Siri and turn off Allow "Hey Siri"
