Can I export from Final Cut Pro X to iDVD?
Switched to FCP X because iMovie was breaking down. Question: can I export my finished project to iDVD?

Not directly but you can make movies and output them to DVD in a variety of ways including the built-in DVD output of FCP X.
Thanks, James... but I want to create a DVD with a menu, special features, etc. like I've done in iDVD and iMovie. Any ideas from anyone about how to do this from FCP X?
FCP is a video editing application. The DVD is authored in iDVD. If you need chapter markers you can use Comrpessor.
While a really like FCPX having swithced over from Imovie, the options/ menu for a DVD are very dissappointing.
PLease explain
The FCP DVD build is for making a basic disc to show your movie. If you want to author a disc you need to use a DVD authoring tool like iDVD or Toast or something else.
Tom, once a movie is finished in FCP X, is there a way to get it into iDVD?
You export it. You drag the exported file into the iDVD interface.
Thanks so much, Tom. I appreciate your help!
Thanks Tom
"You export it. You drag the exported file into the iDVD interface."
What is best format and settings to use for the exported file? Specifically if my project is 1080p HD.
What are the complete and exact specifications of your media?
1920x1080, 29.97fps, Stereo, 48kHZ
Is that all you might need to know? If not, just me know. I'm not sure how to find out any more info. Sorry, I'm not too tech savvy.
Thanks.
Use Export Media current settings.
I am creating a 4 DVD disc set with about 16 chapters. I am doing the editing in FCP X. This will be done from editing 8 clips in a single event. Do I create a separate project for every chapter I want to have in iDVD? Then export this as a separate movie, and import into iDVD? Also, when I used the blade tool to do an edit, funky stuff started happening with the audio timeline, it started to appear twice and move itself into a different location. Any idea why? Do I need to use compressor? This is an instructional DVD set so each chapter will be labeled and on the start up menu of the DVD. Thanks!
