How do I update my Apple ID info in the ITunes Store on my IPhone

I followed the advice in one of the forums and went to the settings and updated everything to the new AppleID format. My old phone had the OLD login ID on the ITunes store, not the email format. So I thought I cleared it all up. I even went and resynced everything on my computer. But I went to update my apps and it popped up with the OLD name again...SIGH! Any ideas on this one?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5

All apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using another iTunes account/Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another iTunes account/Apple ID. You'll have to contact iTunes support, explain the situation & request they add your apps to the download queue of your new Apple ID:
