Mail app deleting emails without consent?

The Mail app on my iphone 4 decided to delate every email I had received during teh month of October. I have a Yahoo account and tend to check it on my phone. If I opened the Inbox or any of the other folders I had created to save emails in (like purchases, contacts, bills) all of the emails from October disappeared after the mail app had connected and synced. I did not request that they be deleted, and am now at a loss about how, or if, my emails can be received. They don't even show up in the trash folder despite having just disappeared from the account. This happened to me this past Friday and I am fearful it will happen again...

And yes, I have upgraded to iOS5

Another month has passed and my email has done this AGAIN. At the beginning of December, my emails were delated a second time. I have done multiple hard resets between the first time this happened and now. It seems to happen at teh end of each month, and it only does this when my email is checked through teh mail app on my phone.

What setting do you have for Deleted Messages: Remove (Settings/Mail,contacts,calendar, account name, Advanced). Also, check the settings in your Yahoo mail, and have you deleted the messages in Yahoo? If you have they will be removed from the phone also.

Previously, my deleted emails went away once a week. The emails that are disappearing are in folders I created in my inbox, not in my deleted emails folder. The problem didn't start until I updated to the new OS on my iPhone 4. I had this phone for over a year without the problem. The update a week or 2 ago did not fix this problem. I haven't changed any settings in yahoo... And I know I did not delete the emails in yahoo mail before checking my phone. I rarely check in through the yahoo website.

Try Settings -> Mail, Contacts, and Calendars -> (Your Mail box) -> Set Archive Messages to ON.

That way, even if it deletes the messages, they'll still be on your phone in the "All Mail" folder. 🙂

Hard reset, Hold home and off till you see APPLE switch back on

Left one thing out... I changed the deleted emails to a month clear out AFTER the first round of emails were deleted from my inbox last month, but that change should not affect emails in my inbox.

I cannot find an archive option. Any other thoughts on what is causing this?
