Renamed Ipod (not through Itunes) HELP

Hi, Ok Soooo. My Sister wanted to rename her Ipod. Not realising all she had to do was go into Itunes to do it.

Somehow she mananged to Change the name of her Ipod in "My Computer" by Right Clicking the Ipod/Camera Icon and

Changing the name of the ipod in the Properties - General tab. So now Itunes cannot "Read the Content". But

It will not let me change the display name back the same way. Itunes will not let me change anything at all. the only

option it is giving my is to restore to factory settings. However we do not want to lose everything off it. Does anybody

Have a Suggestion besides the obvious format/reset?? Maybe there is a file I can go into to change it back??
