Iphone 4s- Siri cannot make phone calls?

Siri is one of the main reasons for me to buy a 4S, and this is a function that even phones with the most basic of voice recognition (never mind natural language) can deliver.

hey, i have the same incident. after I wondered at the people, they are saying could not call with "siri" if you are in Indonesia because "Siri" in Indonesia still can not be used

I just have my new iphone 4s, like it so much!

But..there's one problem that i cannot make a phone call with "siri". The message : "Sorry xxx, I can't call xxxx mobile number" .

Can you help me with this problem?

I had the same problem. I solved it by letting my carrier (Verizon) set up the phone over the phone. It's a dial of #228 for me but it may be a different for you if you have a different carrier. It takes a few minutes. Just follow the directions and a message tells you that your phone setup is complete. I have not had that problem since.

in your contact, add the relevant country code (eg. +XX123456789)

doesn't help in making calls to local numbers (and Siri is able to make calls to foreign numbers)

lucky for you. but AFAIK this only applies to Verizon. I have not found any reference to such a number for any other operator and certainly not for my operator 😟

Hello... Hello... Any admins here? We are your customers and we are not got the iPhone 4s from free! And today I would like to say sorry about that words! In my country Cambodia, iPhone is very popular! Newspapers and magazines here posted the users of iPhone about 80% to 90% used it! Eventhough, the apple store is not available here but we still spend amount of money to buy it from the US or China with the original ( GSM phone )... And now we got a problem with Siri that's called really very helpful of personal assistant? But now it cannot help us to call local calls or spend any SMS! If you are trying to fix it or not, please giving us a reply! I am looking forward to hearing from you since the phones sold like hot cakes from a few days later of the phone release!

i got the same problem for the past two weeks

even i got it replaced with a new handset this monday but even this says the same message"SORRY I COULDNT MAKE YOUR PHONE CALL"

Hi, i live in Cyprus too, and had this problem. I think I have fixed it.

Make sure that all your local contacts have +357 in front of their numbers, and you also need to make you do the same with YOUR number. Go to your own contact card to make this change.

As soon as I did this, Siri has worked perfectly making local and international calls.
