I lost all my apps when I uploaded ios5

When I upgraded to ios5, all the apps I bought as well as the few apps that came installed (moron, etc) disappeared. I purchased these apps directly from the ipad App Store using my Apple ID account and some gift cards. I tried redownloading them from the purchased box, but there is nothing listed there.
