Question on phase correction.

can someone share what is the easiest way to correct phasing between 2 tracks in Logic.In Nuendo there is a button you click on the mixer strip which reverses the phase.How do I reverse phase in Logic? I tried reading the manual on it but dont seem to understand.Also while correcting phase,do I need to have the 2 tracks adjacent to each other?

Also can you tell me if I need to correct the phase of 2 drum tracks played on different drum kits recorded from 1 midi track.Since they are both different drum kits,playing exactly the same beat & pattern,do I need to reverse phase of 1 of those tracks.As far as I know I don't hear any phasing,but some sound pro engineers have a ear to detect phasing which I really cannot hear!

To adjust the polarity you can use the gain plug-in. The tracks do not need to be adjacent to do this. If you want to adjust the phase manually, by zooming in and actually moving one track's audio forward or backward - well it helps to be able to see what you are doing so in this case you would want them next to each other. Last question.. I understand you to be saying you have two completely different instruments playing in perfect sync with each other (but theoretically not recorded in the same room at the same time)? You shouldn't have phase issues with this, and furthermore it doesn't matter. If you think it sounds good as it is and this is the sound you want then that is a good sound for you to be using.

Thanks for the response.About the 2nd question ,it's not about live drums but I actually have a midi track with data for drums on the midi track from which I am recording 2 audio tracks with different drums kits on each track although they play the same midi data.The first track has a drum kit from Battery & the 2nd a drum kit from garage band.After the audio tracks have been recorded I delete the midi track.

Right. Wouldn't that be the same as having two completely different instruments(Battery kit, garage kit) playing in perfect sync (using same MIDI data) with each other - but theoretically not recorded in the same room at the same time (again, two different sample sets recorded in different environments)?
