Q: iPhone 4s location wrong... Why?

Tried this but I'm afraid it didn't work for me, still in turkey!

You were right... I am coming back to china. Yeah ! -19celsius degrees. It is cold^^ moreover i start to have troubles with my network... I usually had à good network at home but I have currently no network... Its weird. I dont Know what its going on !

I live in Scotland but my location according to my iPhone 4s is Datong, China.  Please fix this Apple.

But all was fine up until 2 days ago (for me) - what has changed to cause this problem?  I've always had crappy 3G at home.

That's right. Two days ago no problem with location at all for 1-2 weeks.

False location only since yesterday, but I think iOS-Update was some days before or didn't I recognize the problem earlier?

Also 3G is as good / poor as before. So I can't find nothing that has changed (except iOS 5.0.1).

Maybe fixing the battery issue produced the location issue?!

Before I reported that the issue was found only with Telekom and not with O2 SIM-Card, but perhaps it's really only the poor 3G, cause O2-signal ist much better than Telekom-signal at my home.

try going somewhere where you don't have 3G AND GPS coverage for the O2 sim card, i bet that iphone will mess up its location too if it has 5.0.1

btw, is any of you (who has this location problem) using ios 5.0 (NOT 5.0.1)?

Perhaps but then I updated to 5.0.1 not long after I purchased my 4S, about 3 weeks ago.  All fine until 2 days ago.  Maybe it's a slow leak lol

*sighs* well for the past few days it's been finding my location abet a little slowly but apparently now I'm near shanghai which is great cause I like travelling but strangely it seems very like the lovely Kilkenny Ireland where I live! ;)

So I just talked with an Apple advisor who after speaking with a senior manager, came back and said that I should reset the network settings - I told him that doesn't work.  He then said to backup my iphone then restore as a new device, and then sync my backup. 

I have doubts that this will work but before I try, has anybody else here already tried that?  I don't recall reading any comments mentioning that ...

Will 5.02 sort it, I soooo hope so.

I don't think I'll bother going through the wipe, restore, backup rigmarole then.  Seems a bit pointless if you're back to where you started.
