How do I copy photos from Photostream to an event in iPhoto on my iMac?

OK, it looks like photostream is working as it has imported photos from my iPhone to the folder called Photostream in iPhoto on my iMac.

Now, I want to copy some of these photos and paste them into certain existing events I have already created. I can highlight the ones I want, and copy from the menu, but when I go to the event I want to place them into it doesn't allow me to paste them.

Can someone give me the step by step instructions I should use to copy/move photos from the Photostream folder to an event folder on my iMac?

Thanks!

The photos are already in an Event, probably called October 2011 (or November 2011) Photostream.

You can move photos between Events simply by drag and drop. You can flag photos in an Event and then select the destination Event and go Events: Add Flagged Photos to Selected Events

Sorry, but now when I try and copy the pictures I want from the event that Photostream created by highlighting and selecting copy from the edit toolbar, I then go to the event I want to paste them into and it doesn't allow me to paste!

I suppose I could try and just drag the "October 2011" photostream event into the event I want, but I don't want ALL of the photostreamed pix...just some of them.

Terence, what am I doing wrong?

Flag the pic(s) and select the the Target Event and go Events -> Add Flagged Pics to Selected Event

i see how to do this

Drag the selected pic(s) to the target Event.

i'm struggling with this. i don't see a way to drag a pic from photostream direct to an event. if i'm in photostream, i can drag a pic, but i can't see any individual event to drag it to. i can dump it in Events in the sidebar and drag to an event from there, but that's a bit clunky.

beats me why i can copy a pic in photostream, but iphoto won't allow me to paste in an event???

Only photos taken on your phone after turning on Photo Stream are uploaded. It will not transfer photos that were in Camera Roll before turning it on. If you want full resolution pictures to be available for your old photos, import them to your computer and put them in your upload folder (assuming your computer has iCloud an Photo Stream enabled). Also, Photo Stream isn't a backup service; photos are only kept there for 30 days allowing your enough time to download them to your other devices.

I have the same problem except, even tho my Photo Stream is on automatic import and upload, I have no idea where my pics end up in iphoto. I have been taking pics for months and have always had my iphone set up with PS. I did not have events called '' Photo Stream with the month''.

Also, when I select the pics from PS, I can copy, but when I choose the event to where I want to put the pics, it does not allow me to paste.

So, I have tried to select the pics and drag into the Events (in the source on the left) - then, only some pics appeared in an event called Sep 2012 PS (created on its own ?)

I don't know what else to try...Thanks!
