Nike iPod = crash , cannot link sensor

I got nike+ today too and same keeps happening...

Just wait for iOS 5.1 to comeout. Apple SHOULD fix the problem by then.

Also if you think about restoring, Don't waste your time trying to restore yur ipod, because I tried restoring mine several times and still nothing.

Hope Apple or someone who reads this discussion finds a solution.

I actually got it working, but unfortunately I had to restore and use it as a NEW iPod...

So I guess try restoring, but restore it as a new iPod. Don't use a backup because your backup is probably corrupted like mine.

I had to restore today. I updated from 5.0.1 to 5.1 with just an upgrade, and I still had the exact same issue. A clean restore NOT from a backup is what solved my issues. So I can say that 5.1 did NOT fix said issue.

The same problem here on my iPhone 4S. Is there any other solution in the meanwhile? I want to prevent to restore my iPhone - because this will take some hours.. 😟

I tried everything I could think of short of restoring it. The only thing that helped - a restore with a fresh install. When I restored and restored the backup I got the same thing, but when I set it up as a new install it worked right away.

That's by the way also the official workflow from the Apple Support. 😠 I'm not really happy about this, but what else can we do!?

At least one positive thing: The workaround seems to work fine, also if it's not the best solution I can imagine.. 😐

It just happened to me some time ago and I found a way to fix this, download the Mac application iExplorer, connect your iphone, then browse to your iPhone, looking for the Media folder, export the below folder (just make a backup) and delete it

iTunes_control -> Device -> Trainer

Start the Nike+ipod again, then all the database will be rebuilt and it should works again.

Can you help me a bit with this fix. I have the same problem. I downloaded iExplorer and located the File 'Trainer' but I cant delete it ... is that what I'm meant to do?

Please help - I dont want to Restore my phone to make it work.

My iPhone 5 would not work with the sensor. The app would crash and the sensor option was greyed out and could not be selected.

Thanks to AnthonyFROMHK - I fixed this by downloading iExplorer, selecting Media and deleting the "device" folder under the "iTunes_control" folder. Next, I turned off Nike+ipod from Settings then turned it back on.

The app now runs and the sensor can be paired. Hope this helps someone.

iExplorer did not have this complete path, only a device folder with nothing in it. I took a leap of faith and deleted the device folder, turned Nike+iPod from Settings then turned it back on.

Refreshing the folder list in iExplorer showed that new data had been populated for the application.

I can now pair the sensor and run the application. Thanks for leading me in the right direction!

Exactly the same, the Device folder was empty for me too.
