Unknown Error (-9808) = Unsecure Connection to iStore?

Ive been getting an unknown error (-9808) for about two years now. I finally found the diagnostics, and now I know that My iTunes cant create a secure link to the iTunes store. I clicked the help button in the diagnostics, and i got a new window that told me the data was not on this server.

I havent been able to log in to iTunes from my computer for awhile now. Ive tried reinstalling, a hard line, even a new account. Zilch.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem with a computer running XP, it started about two weeks ago when I updated to Itunes 10.5 now I can't access the Itunes store. I tried turning off the firewalls but that didn't seem to work for me, maybe it will work for you.

Lorddulac. . . . I found a post from williamfromchester. . . this is what he posted:

1. Quit itunes

2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)

3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset

4. press ENTER

5. Reboot your machine

6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync

7. Good luck

This worked like a charm. Everything is working normal again.
