Medal of Honor PowerPC

I bought an old FPS classic that I used on my Windows machine. This was brand new in, in the box and wrapped and on the outside it showed it was compatable with Mac (or so I thought). It had a little squre Mac miley face logo on the game.

It is the Medal of Honor: Breakthrough edition.

It will not play.

My Mac will not support "PowerPC"? What is that and what do I have to do to get the game rnning. The ealy MOH games were fun on Windows and I would just like to try this old game on my brand new Mac Book Pro since I have not found a lot of FPS games I would like for the Mac.

Thanks!

If you have a MBP that shipped with Lion, there may be a chance that you may still be able to Run Snow Leopard on it. Not Leopard, that is the OSX 10.5, while Snow Leopard is OSX 10.6, the one before Lion. Call your local Apple store and ask them if your MBP can run Snow Lepoard. If it can run Snow Leopard, you would need to revert from Lion back to that OSX. First find out of your machine can run 10.6. If it can, you can later ask how to go from 10.7 to 10.6 or just do a google seach. their are plenty of articles that instruct on how to do this.

The question to ask yourself is "Is this game important enough to me that I should uninstall the latest OS and install an older version to play it?".

My opinion of Lion is that it is having teething pains but will get better over time. Some people have gone back to Snow Leopard (or have not yet moved to Lion) for this reason. So you may add that to the equation and determine the move to Snow Leopard is warranted. Another thingto consider, which I'm not sure about, is that iCloud may only work on Lion. If that is the case and if you are using it or planning to, that might be the deciding factor.

I downloaded it and ran the compatability tester on Crossover.

Crossover will not support any of my Medal of Honor Games; Games for Windows.

Now I have to figure out how to delete Crossover from my Mac.

Gaming will remain limited on Mac I suppose. I know have plenty of Windows CD/DVD games that will make nice beer coasters

From the message, it appears you are trying to eject the Crossover disk image. It also appears that Crossover is still running, or left something running. You might try logging out then back in (or restarting). Another option is to start Activity Monitor, find Crossover on the list of processes, stop that process, then eject the disk image.

From the Crossover site, these are the Medal of Honor games that have been tested or reported on:

Allied Assault Breakthrough, if that is one of the ones you have, gets a "silver" medal, meaning it runs well but is not flawless.
