Identify the model G5?

I am looking to put a workhorse desktop G5 into my studio and just need a secondhand machine with reasonable speed and capability.

I am being offered from a local company a G5 machine but I am unsure of its specifications.

The info I have (which they sent me from the system profiler) is as follows:

Hardware overview

Machine Name: Power Mac G5

Machine Model: PowerMac11,2

CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (1.1)

Number Of CPUs: 2

CPU Speed: 2.3 GHz

L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB

Memory: 2 GB

Bus Speed: 1.15 GHz

Boot ROM Version: 5.2.7f1

Serial Number: CK*****LUV1

I have tried to find out more about this model from the Apple support pages but with no success.

Anyone know how to get the full technical specs of this machine ?

(and possible reviews of it's performance etc. ?)

Any info gladly followed up.

Thanks

I too just picked up a Powermac DP 2.3 off Ebay - just arrived. Am waiting on an adapter (DVI - VGA) as all I have is a few older monitors (been using Imacs since 2006). How do I tell if it's the "early model" 2.3 or the "late model" - been checking out Everymac, Apple, OWC, etc but I'm still confused how to tell - until my adpter arrives I can't boot it up to check System Profiler... I know it has an NVIDIA graphics card with 2 DVI outputs. It has 2-gigs of Ram and would like to take out the 2-gigs I have in my 1st gen G5 Imac but I guess if it's the late model that wouldn't work as it's PC3200 and I believe by reading the "late models" took PC4200.

Well that has solved all my queries thanks

Mine is definitely a late model and won't take the old memory chips.

"Italiano" - you can find your serial number on the case of the Mac. (Sometimes it's under the door). and then you can find out exactly which model you have using the link

I just found an old Radeon 7000 card I had flashed some years ago and got this baby booted. Seems it has 2 512-meg chips (1-gig total) - I'm contacting the Ebay seller as he clearly advertised it as 2-gigs. It's PC4200 too. In the meantime If I put my Imac's PC3200 in it (2 1-gig chips) would it recognize it and work? The seller has to come up with 2 more 512 meg chips or some kind of small rebate back to me as IT'S NOT AS ADVERTISED. Sucker booted in a few seconds though - super faaasssst!
