What does error code (-1) mean?

Hi All,

My 3GS will not restore. Since installing ios5 I have had a few problems which have culminated in the phone not being able to complete the restore process.

It gets to the end of the restore process then I get anerror message along the lines of:

"ITunes cannot restore the iPhone "iPhone". An unknown error has occurred (-1)."

I have tried restoring as normal and in DFU mode. I have tried two PC's, different USB ports, running the battery down.

I cant find any decent info on this error code or any possible solution.

Hi All,

Ive now actually found the thread linked below which is aready deep into discussing this problem.

However, noone seems to know what error code -1 means!

This issue is actually "-1", but the wiki link provided this info:

Error -1

Error occurs when one uses the "last ditch" method for preventing baseband updates on the iPhone 4. The baseband does not get updated using this method. Use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery mode.
