I am sure it is recorded.
I set monitor as ON. I can see green wave on both track and lower middle section. Nothing can be heard during recording and when the recording is played back with or without earphone.
I can hear other things from this mac fine, no sound problem.

Hey Matt I have the same problem and followed our instructions and my mic still doesn't work I checked all of my inputs and outputs and still no feedback I eventually restarted my computer and it still doesn't work. Im also using an audio track which in theory should help but it still doesn't do it. Help

Go to your Garageband preferences, and make sure the Audio Output (under the Audio/MIDI tab) is set correctly.
Thanks, that really helps. It seems that the audio output has to be set as the built in microphone.
