I have opened a PDF documnt, pressed the Annotate button on the toolbar, selected a thought bubble, and moved the mouse over the pLace where I wanted the bubble. Now I am sitting here with a red bubble surrounded by blue-grey dots which seem to indicate that it can be moved or changed in size. But now I want to put some text into the bubble. Preview Help merely says to type it in, but it won't go!

When you first draw a speech or thought bubble, it automatically is placed in text-entry mode - a blinking cursor is shown to indicate that.
However, if you click outside the bubble, such as to change its size or relative shape, it drops out of text-entry mode.
To put it back into text-entry mode, double-click the middle of the bubble.

Just figured it out through experimentation.
Well, you did a fine job! I thought that maybe using a term like 'text entry mode' meant that you had read some Apple document...
Just seemed like a simple way to describe something accurately in a few words.
So, I've been wracking brain... but the "thought bubble" option is missing from my Annotate menu. All the other annotate options are there, and yes, I'm working with a PDF not a JPG document. Is it possible that the newest version of Preview no longer has the thought bubble option?? (I do recall seeing it in the past...) Or perhaps something else is going on here.
If you know anything, I'd really appreciate the reply!

No, mine doesn't have a dropdown... and it's at the bottom of the screen. HOWEVER, I did find the thought and speech bubble options in the Inspector window just a few minutes ago! Thank you for your help, Tony.
