Why are none of my correct/helpful answers being added to my total today?

anyone else experincing this. Hours have passed and I have answered several questions as correct or helpful and they arent being added to my current ammount of points? TIA.

Hello Meg the Dog:

The hosts read these forums. To be candid, I seriously doubt if many people would understand your suggestion. Those of us that have been around for quite awhile and have quite a few points are really disinterested in whether we get any more. The points are there to give an indication to readers of threads how others view the feedback. The idea is that people who have answered people to their satisfaction might have quality feedback that might be more valuable than other feedback. From here, it is nice to have someone say thank you for helping - the points are nice, but certainly not the reason I volunteer time here.

I'm hoping an L6 will take up the cause and bring this thread to a host's attention (unless the maintenance scheduled for later this evening is scheduled to address this already).

About an hour ago, I was awarded a helpful and it actually showed up, but for almost 48 hours before that, no points were added (and I know how many I was awarded).

Hi Miriam,

only the last one from about an hour ago: I had been at 7650 since yesterday morning even though the OP here awarded me a helpful yesterday afternoon. Plus I had 2 solved yesterday - those are the ones I know of. That makes a minimum of 25 points that I am missing (without checking all my posts from yesterday and today).

Come on apple. Software updates should not be causing all these regression problems. Develop an independant regression test set. Run it before moving to a new update of the software. We have witnessed the adoch nature of the developers.

Was reading a book by several Microsoft employees of how the company develops a fully automated regress set for Windows software. If microsoft can do it, I think Apple can too.

Apple gets enough free support out of these forums to justify it.

While we are on this subject, can those with a communication conduit to the hosts pass on this suggestion concerning "points"?

I would like to suggest that the display of points acquired be optional, and that option is a controll in your privacy setttings.

Thanks

Great suggestion. I understand the value of a trusted source, but obsession over points seems to miss the point!

Why are none of my correct/helpful answers being added to my total today?
