Photo booth is not working properly,
when i first started up it the video moves really slow, then it just freezes on a certain fixed image.. or it just opens with a black screen not even showing any type of video

Restart Mac. If problem persists, try all applicable suggestions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
If ALL apps are running slow, check hard disk space available (you need many GB free) and use Disk Utility to "repair permissions" & "verify disk".
