When I open a photo album it crashes immediately. Iphone camera crashes each time I take a photo. I've done two restores and it doesn not change the symptom.

I have the same problem! It started with the phone freezing while saving a photo just taken. I have restarted with teh two-button-restart two times and done two restores with iTunes. Still doesn't work! I use an iPhone 4 updated to iOS 5.0.
I fixed the problem using iExplorer as recommended by ashnazg411 in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3469041
I used the method recommended by ashnazg411 using iExplorer. I had only one of the files he had on his list. I deleted it and the iphone photo functions appear to be working again (10 minutes ago). The photo album file does not crash and the camera remains open after I take a photo. And the photo album seems to be rebuild itself after about five minutes.
