IPhone 4S Not adjusting to Correct Location after Day Light Saving Change. Anyone Else? Shows I am in New York Not Central Time Zone where I actually am

My wife and I had the same issue. We're in the central time zone and we woke up this morning to find our phones were now set to be in New York (Eastern time zone).

I woke up this morning and the time was wrong also. I think the issue is the phone not recognizing the time change from Day Light Savings. I looked at the time zone and it still shows I am in EST. But the time did not change by one hour. If I chnage the time from Automatic it puts the right time in. Looks like a BUG.

Once again if you turn AirPlaine mode one and off for a few seconds the time issue is corrected.

A full power off works, as well. Still, though, iPhones have had this issue for quite a while. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet. Every other phone or device I have can figure out the end of DST.

I've got the same issue on my iphone 4S. After the time change my phone showed me in Mountain Time, "Denver" instead of Pacific Standard Time. A quick switch to airplane mode did solve the issue, but I shouldn't have had to do that. The phone should have done that on it's own as my computers all do.

I had to turn the phone off and on for it to change to the correct time this morning. It was an hour off when I woke up this morning.

I had the same problem this morning and I was so upset because I lost an hour of sleep. When I went to sleep last night at little after 2am, my phone adjusted correctly to 1am right away, so I thought all was good. Then, my alarm went off this morning, and about an hour after I got up, I realized that I was on eastern time and I lost the hour of sleep. This is my first iphone and I am very disappointed to hear that this has been a recurring problem - all of my other cell phones adjusted correctly.

I noticted this morning the 4s was an hour behind EST- when checking the Date/Time settings I noticed that "Time Zone" was showing "Chicago" (CST) but I am in Columbus, OH (EST). I tried going manual setting it to the correct city and then back to automatic but it would just keep going back to Chicago. Thanks, jamesfromrandolph, I did the "Airplane Mode" on and then back off and it's correctly ID'd back to EST (as New York location). Bug!

I'm in Chicago and had the same issue. The thing is my timezone was set to Chicago and not New York before the timechange, but this morning it read New York. After putting the phone in Airplane mode and back out, it set everything back to normal showing the correct time. Is this a provider issue or a OS issue? I have AT&T.

I think it's an iOS issue Mantis, I am on Verizon and had the same issue so likely not network related.

No issue here - 4s/32 on ATT. But a friend did with hers. Had the correct time but then switched to the old time. Told her to turn it off and on. Fixed the issue. The time zone issue is bizzare. Remember to turn off the auto time zone feature unless you're traveling. It's a battery hog as well.

Same issue with my iPhone 4S this morning, but not my iPad2 on iOS5. Hard reset of the iPhone solved the matter, as has already been reported.

I had the issue this morning as well. Concerned because I use my iPhone as an alarm clock. Its ok this time since I just woke up an hour early but next time I could be late to work. My location services are on, all the system location services are on, I had date time set to auto. This morning my time zone was set to New York instead of Chicago. I had to use find my iphone before it realized I was in fact still in Texas and correctly adjusted the time zone!
