itunes is not detecting iphone device. pls help

Same problem with iphone 4 and win 7.

It appears that sync but it doesn't appear the Icon of Iphone on itunes and therefore is impossibile to check the apps on iphone.

Please help.

Well. This is how i resolved my problem.

My iphone was showing up in "My Computers" but wasn't visible in iTunes.

Ensure that you have latest version of iTunes installed. 10.5.1 is the latest.

1- Click on Start --> Run

2- Enter devmgmt.msc

2- This will bring up "Device Manager"

3- Locate and expand the node "Imaging devices"

4- Choose Apple iPhone

5- Right click on the "Apple iPhone" and select "Update Driver"

6- Select second option "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" click Next

7- Check the box labeled "Include this location in the search

8- Copy and paste this path into the folder line- C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers

9- Click "Next"

Windows should now locate the necessary USBAAPL driver to run the iPhone and enable it's detection in iTunes.

This worked for me. I am runing Windows XP SP3
