I cant get away from voice over on my nano how do i get out of it so I can play music

In iTunes, go to the summary screen for your iPod. Click the button on the summary screen titled "Configure Universal Access". The small window that comes up will have 3 checkboxes in it. Make sure they are all unchecked. Then click apply, then sync.

Once that is done, VoiceOver should be off and you should be good to go.
