Right but that does both at the sametime. I want differnt controls for both.
Right but how?
I have all of that on but I don't have control of each one, I guess i'll have to goto the store. I just don't get it. My HTC was much easier.
There is no separate volume control. There is just the option to keep the Ringer volume separate from everything else. It's not clear if ringer volume also includes alerts but I don't think they do.
Ron, I feel your pain. I just came from an HTC also and a lot of stuff with this iPhone is bugging the crap out of me. Who makes a phone where you can't adjust the ringer and alert volumes independently? Instead, I have to adjust the alert volume when it is active. C'mon guys. Get with the program. You won a bunch of Android users over with the 4S, but you're going to chase us all back when we're done with our contract. Frustrating.
Agreed, I'm having the same trouble having just come from an Android (Samsung Galaxy s6), changed for work reasons. I thought the iphone would be a step forward but honestly it's not. I have the above annoyance with the inability to change the ringer volume, as well as a much less convenient setup for the alarms where you have to open and edit each alarm separately. Clunky, and surprising.
I encourage everyone to PLEASE go here and leave feedback as I have already done:
Settings>Sounds>Ringer & Alerts...adjust here...also change with buttons: on/off.
All iPhone volume controls are actually independent of each other....so, adjust the various volumes for the various alerts as you see fit.
Change with buttons: on. Then when your phone rings or you get an alert, adjust the volume.
