ox80020022 Burning DVD/CD problem

I have searched the Apple Support Communities discussions in vain for an easy solution to this error (which prevents me from burning photos to a DVD-R).

Without this function working, I may as well throw my Macbook into a nearby river -- since I need to burn DVDs of my photos when I am traveling.

If I bought a new Macbook, then would I have the same aggravating problem ?

Many posts say to simply buy a high grade of DVD, but that seems hardly foolproof for when I am traveling and I need to rely on this function.
