There are weird bubbles inside the glass of the screen, I don't have a screen protector but its weird, it looks almost like a fingerprint on the glue holding the screen onto the glass... would this be somethig that I could get my 4S replaced for?
sounds like it. Bring it in for evaluation.
I also have the same problem - but on an iphone 3GS. Am assuming the only way air can get in is during manufacture?
Out of warrenty. Anything I can do? Have seen posts saying if you ignore it it gets worse, but don't see why I should have to pay to rectify something that was created during manufacture

Since it is now out of warranty you can get an out of warranty exchange for $149.00. You had a year (or two if you purchased AppleCare) to bring it in under warranty and get a free replacement. Obviously it didn't bother you that much. To expect NOW not to have to pay is ridiculous.
@gdgmacguy - It does bother me, a lot, ACTUALLY - and the problem only just appeared this week. ACTUALLY. Maybe don't make assumptions before sending rude replies? Just saying....
