When I try using the built-in YouTube app to play videos, I get a message saying "the operation could not be completed". I've tried using the app while on WiFi and on 3G (don't know about the 3G signal, but the WiFi one is strong), but neither of them works. I've also tried using YouTube from Safari, but the videos are just stuck on loading, they never begin to play. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

I am getting the same thing with my iPhone 4S using IOS 5.0 while connected via both WIFI and 3G. If I find a solution I'll let you know.

Though I cannot say what the problem IS, I can rule out storage space as an issue; I have 2.5 gigs fee and I am having the same issue, though only since 8:00am 1/23/12.
SOLUTION : go to settings > general > reset > reset network settings . It should work after
