I have to plug my phone in several (7-10) times before it will start to charge? Just wondering if this is something I need to take to the Apple store or back to my carrier? It charges fine once it finally connects but I can imagine doing this for the next two years every day. ADVICE???

are you trying to charge it using the adapter or trying to charge using usb with your computer?
If you have an Apple Store nearby, take it in and get them to have a look at it for you...
Be sure to make an appointment first...
I'm using the adapter from the box and it has not been hooked up to any 3rd party devices or anything else for that matter on the charger. I just have to unplug/replug it to get it to start charging. . .
then its better to take to the apple store then can take a look at the problem you are facing.
You have a dirty connector, a bad connector or a defective cable. Or possibly a defective charger. You can eliminate them one by one by charging with a computer instead of the charger, switching cables, and cleaning the connectors on the cable and the iPhone. Use a soft, dry toothbrush.
Does anyone else have to plug and replug your 4s in to get it to charge?
