I'm in the process of moving to GoDaddy, and a number of others have already. Took only a few changes to the Site Publishing Settings page(s).

Seems pretty good so far (just getting started).

Cheaper than MobileMe (for one site on the Economy plan, anyhow).

iWeb's hit counters don't work, though. I understand there are workarounds, but haven't investigated yet.

There are lots of hosting options out there, but if all you have is a personal or basic website I would try A Small Orange. Almost all of the other hosts who offer "unlimited" plans oversell and then their machines crash. ASO's Tiny plan works great at only $25 per year, and you can save $5 off that if you check signitures on ASO's forums. 2gb many not seem like much, but my website (3michigan.org) is not even at 3/4gb yet. Their customer support absolutly cannot be beaten as well.

Has any one tried 1&1 Internet Linux hosting package?

They fully support Mac users – I should be able to upload the files from iWeb and use the files on their Linux hosting package. Past experience is Sales; Info and Tech support teams at 1&1 are always very prompt and helpful. Just wanted second opinion before committing.

I gather 1&1 Internet also support Adobe Muse hosting.

Check out Rage Web Hosting for iWeb hosting

http://www.ragesw.com/webhosting.php

Very knowledgable on iWeb which is a great thing to have since most other web hosts aren't very helpful with iWeb. When I asked GoDaddy for some assistance with an iWeb site of mine, they just sent me to rage anyways. I've heard a few others who have had the same happen to them.

The site publishing settings page is shown here...

... and you can get hosting with far better support than GoDaddy provides...

The first two hosting services will move your files from MobileMe to their server for you if you contact their Tech Support and redirect your domain name.

Just got my site running with the help of 1and1.co.uk on their Linux hosting package.

Web pages, slide shows, lightroom galleries, blog pages all seem fine.

Adding new pages/sites and changes to pages easy and quick.

Only thing not working is the blog 'display search field' which is on in the inspector RSS and shows on the on old moblie.me site

Features Unavailable When Publishing to a 3rd Party Server:

◼ Password protection

◼ Blog and photo comments

◼ Blog search

◼ Hit counter

Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. However, if the site is first published to a folder on the hard drive and then uploaded to the sever with a 3rd party FTP client those two feature will be broken.
